Tasting Notes:
A great season for the later ripening Bordeaux varieties with a long growing season of warm days, cool nights and minimal rain. Both varieties are grown on a vertical shoot positioned trellis with extensive hand leaf plucking to expose the fruit to the summer rays and assist in the ripening of sugars and flavors.

Winemaking:
Hand picked, fermented warm in small open top fermenters and pressed on completion of fermentation. A blend of 30% Merlot and 70% Cabernet, the wine was aged in new and 2 year old oak for 18 months before being racked, fined with egg whites and bottled in February 2002.

Tasting Notes:
Blending Merlot with Cabernet is a synergy widely respected. The soft flavours of the merlot combine with the Cabernet to create a rich wine with intense fruit and integrated oak Intense purple black color with lively black current and mulberry aromas. This is a wine made for enjoyment now or cellaring for further development and enhanced complexities.
